I need this book!!!
Tree of Codes - Jonathan Safran Foer.
I found this book recently, it’s such a curious text to read, even to look at. I can’t quite tell if I’m reading it correctly, that’s almost certainly part of its charm. Each page is like a whole new poem or prose, but at the same time it’s a retelling of the last. Things are revealed, added and obscured with each page turn. It’s almost like reading a story through a kaleidoscope.
I’ve laid my hands on a copy of the original text that was exhumed to create this book, Street of Crocodiles. I looked for it in a number of bookstores but as in many cases I ended up finding it in my Father’s collection last time I was in Tallebugera.

Without sounding too melodramatic, life is a somewhat like this book at the moment. Everything feel as if it is wrapped up in codes and I can’t quite get a glimpse of the full picture right now. In many ways that the charm of life right now, I feel like I’m in a little whirlwind and it’s an interesting and new sensation after a long period of feeling pleasingly grounded.
Either way the book is wonderful, Jonathan Safran Foer continues to tug on my over-sentimentality with all of his joyous melancholy. I’m a sucker for his work.
