Post the 17th Make Art March. I can’t really tell if the ideas I have ever translate fully, but I thought this was super cute and sort of making fun of nostalgia at the same time.

On one hand I’ve definitely seen better terrariums but on the other hand this is also my first. Really quite happy about it, it shall brighten my room!

Weekends are really a struggle. I’m just so busy the last few days. Any way, I made this dangerous mermaid because I’m a big fan of merpeople actually being animalistic. Learning and using new watercolour techniques, getting there slowly.
Also I’ve decided I’m definitely buying myself a printer scanner when I’m through with this month (if I have actually finished a piece for each day) going to get some actually decent images of my work!

This is of some more of the Mana Bar staff all did up in Adventure Time style. This is the real tribute to the original staff. That’s Gabe, Misty, Cormac & Phoebe. Late 2010 is the period I was aiming for.

I’ve done a few of these recipe drawing type things before, this one is a variant on a friend’s recipe. Heidi does these as loaves but I love them as single serve sizes and because you wrap them up and they’re dense and oh so filling they reminded me of lembas bread.
This was the first to go into my new recipe journal and I’m quite happy with it. (Though I’m sure I’ll find a spelling mistake tomorrow and curse the whole thing out)
Do try them out, they’re delicious!

Ispahan macarons. Not really art I suppose as they are a comestible. That said these take artisan skill and are blissful to eat. I made these for a lovely friend who had their 21st this week.
They are lychee and rose cream with an agar agar raspberry centre, with fresh raspberries and all in a pearlescent macaron shell. In other words, nomable.

MArch the 4th fix - Never mind. I couldn’t wait til later to fix it, it was annoying me so.
Touched up the colours, made all the freckles LSP silhouettes and gave her a big shiny star. Now I like this. Algebraic!
